How to get here...

Google Map

Hockley Street Studios is on the edge of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, just off Great Hampton Street.

Walking

We are only a ten-minute walk from the former Sound Control Birmingham. Just follow the main road out of town, past the Green Room Cafe, until you come to New Hampton Lofts on your left - Hockley Street is the next right.

We are roughly 20 minutes' walk from the city centre, which has bus and rail connections to all parts of the city, and the country.

Cycling

We have indoor space where bicycles can be left safely.

Public Transport

We are close to bus routes 8, 16, 46A, 74, 79 and 91. See the Travel WM website for details of these routes.

The Jewellery Quarter local rail/tram station is only a few minutes' walk away - come out of the station and turn right. Hockley Street is the next left. Follow the street down, over the lights.

We are well known to St Paul's Taxis. Their number is 0121 236 6666.

By Car

From the city centre: from Old Snow Hill follow Constitution Hill towards Hockley and Handsworth. There is no right turn from Great Hampton Street onto Hockley Street - turn right at the filter lane by the texaco garage (where Constitution Hill becomes Great Hampton Street) and then turn left onto Barr Street.

From the Motorway: from M6 Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction), take the A38(M) Aston Expressway into the City Centre. Once you enter the central area, you will go over a flyover by the fire station. Come off the expressway after this flyover, and turn right at Old Snow Hill, which is the junction next to St Chad's Catholic Cathedral (big red pointy building). This will take you past Sound Control and onto Constitution Hill.

Parking

Street-side parking around the area is free all day. There is a public pay-and-display car park directly opposite the studio which is free after 6pm (and all day on Sundays and Bank Holidays), and only 20p per hour before that.

Full car park charges

Part of the street and car park is covered by our recorded external CCTV cameras.

Hockley Street Studios can accept no responsibility for any damage or loss to vehicles, bicycles or any other items left in or around our premises.
